Buy a Brick Campaign
Be a pathway to our future at St. Francis Retreat. This fundraiser offers a way to memorialize your retreat, the past, or your participation in a bold new future.
One of the best things about working at St. Francis Retreat is the stories we hear from people like you. We are selling “Commemorative Bricks” which may be personalized with names, dates and special messages.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to improve our guest rooms and deal with deferred maintenance issues.
Help us create a pathway to our future with the gift of the brick!
Renewing The Gift-Temporarily on hold due to Covid
The Plan to renew the oldest guest rooms at St. Francis Retreat.
When the retreat property was purchased in 1947 the first concerted fundraising effort was for the creation of a wing of guest rooms. That wing is now called St. Francis Court.
Those initial rooms were built in 1951, 57 years ago by a volunteer contractor and volunteer workers from St. Timothy’s Parish in San Mateo. It was a significant gift to the retreat house and men’s retreat movement at that time.
Those rooms are showing their age and need more than a simple facelift.
As an individual, consider sponsoring the cost of one room in memory of someone dear to you. As an organization, consider sponsoring a room in honor of the organization or events you have held here.
Stewardship Needs
Scholarships
We accept donations to our Scholarship fund which helps individuals who otherwise could not afford it, come away on retreat.
Donations
Donations are critical to sustain the mission of SFR, to care for our aging facilities, and to keep the grounds safe and beautiful. Thank you for spreading the word throughout the greater community so they can help. As all of our records were lost, please send any group information to the above address or call phone (831) 623-4234. Past donations have also been used to create the Native California Meadow, provide new chairs in the chapel, and even update this website. Your contribution to the General Fund will help continue our ministry at St. Francis Retreat.
Donations can also be made through a secure online service (eTapestry), please click the button, to make your donation.
